The Air in Google
March 3rd, 2008 | by Brad King |I love the AIR applications, although honestly they are pretty dork-bot right now. Hopefully that will change. The one I am awaiting: Google Reader.
I posted about my issues with Lifestreaming, but with Google Reader on my mobile — and the RSS feeds from all my friends and such running through GR, plus three different Lifestreaming sites — if I could turn the GR into an AIR application, I’d have a pretty dang good start at keeping up with everyone (although I haven’t added my photos, videos and audio yet). Once I get everything synched, I’ll be able to post from a webcam/mobile/blog/Scribefire - and it will be updated everywhere.
I haven’t incorporated Twitter into this blog, either. I would like to see a FriendFeed or Twitter application that would allow me to post — off the home page — what all my friends are doing.
That would be cooking with fire.
I’m looking forward to taking my Google Analytics on the road as well, speaking of AIR. Check out the desktop application. For those who use Analytics, you’ll see instantly how much nicer this is. The interface is nice, and auto-generates maps and such. You don’t have the type of control you do on Google Maps, but it’s a good start.
Take a look:
