Social Thing: A Beat Lifestreaming Story

March 8th, 2008 | by Brad King |

Imagine if you had a journalist, connected to lots of really important people in their field…particularly people who blogged, Facebooked, MySpaced…or whatever.

Even better, what if you found the people who did those things even if they weren’t the most prominent people. You just found passionate people and collected them in one place. You could have a 24-hour news stream updated by your reporter and the people who are passionate about the subject. The reporter is still the filter, but then they are only part of the conversation.

This will be the future of news: Beat Lifestreaming.

Here is what my Lifestream looks like. What you can’t see so clearly is that I have a never-ending stream of information and updates from my friends scrolling through my board. I don’t have to chase them down on different sites. They all come here.
