A Test Post with Windows Live Writer

March 17th, 2008 | by Brad King |

I was told that this application — Windows Live Writer — was superior for bloggers on the go. The main benefit: I can write and save the draft, and when I’m back online, everything gets uploaded.

If I’m guessing, this is a Silverlight application (no Air here) as it offers the same functionality that we’ve discussed before.

Of course, it works best with Microsoft products. I’m always amazed in this day and age when companies insist on ignoring that the fact that people are tied to a platform and not a company. Let me decide what I want to use. Remember…nobody puts baby in the corner.

Still, with ScribeFire and Windows LIve Writer, I don’t ever need to be away from my blog (except that my battery doesn’t work on this computer so I have to be plugged in).

It’s possible that the WLW has more functionality than ScribeFire as well. The WYSIWYG editor grabs much of the information directly from my blog, which means all the tagging and such that I have are included in this interface.

That’s pretty damn fancy. I can even upload images, which is good stuff. I’ll be giving that a try in the near future. For now, life is good in the blogosphere.
